Overview

Hachi-One Diver, known in the Wii version as Hachi-One Diver Wii and the DS version as Hachi-One Diver DS, is a virtual shogi game developed by Silver Star and published for the Wii (Platform) (by Silver Star as a digital WiiWare title) on March 24, 2009, for the Nintendo DS (Platform) (by Electronic Arts (Company)) on March 26, 2009, and for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) (by Silver Star) on September 17, 2009. It is a video game adaptation of the shogi-themed manga series of the same name (also known as 81diver), building on the studio's earlier shogi games while featuring a story mode re-telling the manga's plot (which can change depending on the player's outcome). It also features unique guides that show not only good plays, but bad plays. The DS version of the game later received two digital DSiWare (Platform) releases: one based solely on the bonus hasami shogi mode (Hachi-One Diver DS: Naruzou-kun Hasami Shogi, released on February 24, 2010), and one based solely on the story mode (Hachi-One Diver DS Story, released on March 17, 2010).
