Mighty No. 1 was designed by Kimo Kimo with oversight from Keiji Inafune. Kimo Kimo was asked "to come up with a design that was more than just breathing fire, or using a flamethrower, or any of the usual stuff; we wanted his entire body to be like a flaming sun or a furnace -- difficult to even get close to."
