Overview

We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, known in the Genesis version as A Dinosaur's Tale, are side-scrolling platformers published by Hi Tech Expressions for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Platform), Sega Genesis, and Game Boy (Platform) in North America on November 1993.

Each of the three games are movie tie-ins with the animated feature film We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story (itself based on the children's book of the same name).

The SNES version, developed by Visual Concepts (Company), puts players as the intelligent Tyrannosaurus Rex (Concept) known as Rex as he makes his way across New York (with the help of his dinosaur friends) to rescue the kids Louie and Cecilia from Professor Screweyes.
The Genesis version, developed by Funcom, puts players as either the street urchin Louie or his wealthy friend Cecilia as they play through events from the film. It also features vehicular mini-game segments where players control the dinosaurs themselves.
The Game Boy version, developed by Beam Software (Company), ties little with the film's story and instead puts players as Rex as he journeys throughout various prehistoric environments to rescue his dinosaur friends from Prof. Screweyes. It is notable for being one of the three licensed localizations of the 1993 European game Baby T-Rex (which would later get remade as Radical Rex (Game)), the other two being Bamse for Swedish markets (based on the cartoon of the same name) and Agro Saur in Australian markets (based on the puppet media personality Agro).
