Vampire teeth are often portrayed as elongated canines or "eye teeth". The shape, length, and retractability of the teeth varies from story to story. Generally speaking, however, for vampires to effectively blend with humans, the teeth must either be small enough to conceal without drawing attention, or else only protrude when the vampire feeds.
Exceptions to covert vampire teeth occur in the grotesque vampire or nosferatu. Many or all of this vampire's teeth may be pointed, and permanantly hang out of the mouth unconcealed.
