CONCEPT

Valkyries are maidens who serve Odin. They take slain warriors to Valhalla.

Overview

Valkyries are mythical, divine maidens of Norse mythology that serve Odin as the choosers of the slain. Their primary task is to select and retrieve the souls of deceased warriors and escort them to Valhalla (Location). References to valkyries have been made in many video games, and they have taken many forms.

Valkyrie Profile

In Valkyrie Profile (Game), the player takes the role of Lenneth (Character), a valkyrie awakened to recruit warriors to fight in Ragnarok; the end of the world. Over the course of the game, Lenneth must recruit and train the souls of deceased warriors before sending them to Valhalla.

Too Human

In Too Human (Game), a mix of science fantasy and Norse myth, a robotic valkyrie will descend to retrieve the protagonist Baldur (Character) each time that he dies.

Megami Tensei

In the Megami Tensei (Franchise) franchise, valkyries are one of the numerous types of mythological beings that frequently appear. In the Persona (Franchise) franchise, for example, they can be summoned as Personae in Persona 3 and 4.
