Capturing the perfect photo. I took this one right after a the rain fell.

Hi I've been getting into photography as a fun way to kill some time on the weekend. I figure where best to share the fruits of my labor as here in my first ever photo blog. Fluid Static, I took these last weekend. Thank you.
Its been a while since I wrote a blog post, but I felt I'd share this. I finally got off my ass and filled out all my IMDb credits . I'll take any and all questions about visual effects, the film industry as I know it, and maybe some wisdom on life.
This has been a long time coming, but I finally updated my working demo reel for 2011. This is all of the best stuff I've worked on over the past five years. Thanks for checking it out.
Whats up Giant Bomb? What is day 26? This my personal record for days worked without a day off. I set that record back in September 09 when I was working on a big ESPN job. Today I reached that record and I'm going to shatter it by more than a week. I've been working 10 hour days for the past four weeks and I think I'm starting to lose grip on reality. Don't worry, I don't think I'll go postal...
About a year ago I began an epic project to solve a major issue with my back yard. Seasonal flooding. Here is a quick run down of the situation with my back yard. -Low spot (water doesn't drain) -Solid clay under soil -Lot behind me is on an incline Those three factors caused two main problems. My backyard becomes a swampy mess this time of year, and the soil saturation reaches a critical level...
And I can't wait to get this baby set up. I'll have to hook up the PS3 and play some SFIIHD remix to make sure the HD is properly... calibrated ;) Obey!!!
Well, I suppose its safe to talk about now. Last month we finally wrapped up on a four month long project. As the title suggests I was involved in the post production of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. We did the 3D stereo conversion on over a hundred shots in the film. For my part, I was lead Match mover (camera tracking)at the studio I work for. It involves taking the raw footage shot on se...
Its true that sometimes cops have nothing better to do than harass people at night. I was heading home from a friends party on Saturday night and two cops pulled me over. It was about 2:20 am, and they claim my license plate light was out. Yeah, BS. But they made me do the whole song and dance drunk test. Man that was a nerve racking and embarrassing experience! Ok, I had been drinking most of...
A while back I posted a blog about a feature film I worked on. I wish I could say, go out and see it, but the film was made for Asian markets. There is no distribution in the US yet. The Film is call, Red Cliff part 2. The Battle of Red Cliff is a tale of two ancient Chinese factions that went to war with each other...etc. Oh, and there was an epic naval battle with 10,000 burning ships. The pa...
I had some down time so I decided to add some life to these toy robot models we had in our library. I am using 3dsMax and vray 1.5
Let me start by saying, I like my PS3. For the past 13 months, it has been a very entertaining experience. As I took care of my PS3, I made sure to give it enough air to ventilate, and handled it gently. Back when I decided to purchase a "next gen" system I was faced with a serious choice. Should I buy an xbox 360 and have access to an established software library and connect with countless fri...
January 17th, 9pm Est on ESPN. North Carolina vs Miami. We did all the pregame intro animations and transitional graphics for the game. The game was sponsored by Infiniti. A few months of work for thirty seconds of show. Its crazy how this business works.
I googled my name just for the hell of it and I came across this. We finished this project about a year ago, and it was one of my favorites so far. CG channel did a nice job showcasing our work which was used for the Nissan GT-R launch site. Check out the link, an embedded video will start playing. http://www.cgchannel.com/news/viewfeature.jsp?newsid=7341 Nissan GT-R: fake while I'm at it, I mi...
In response to the question of the day, I am only looking forward to the next few months. Games RE5, SF4, and KZ2. Basically games that have two word titles with a number at the end. Easier for me to abbreviate. Beyond that, I will wait and see what is coming out. A lot of games look good half a year out, but never live up to the hype.
So sad to see it go. I've been a regular EGM reader since issue 18. It was January 1991 when I first plucked it off a news stand. Back then, GI-Joe and the NES were still worthy of a cover story. I never really warmed up to the 1up network, but I still enjoyed thumbing through the mag each month. In an age of digital media, this event kind of marks an end to an era. Not just in video game cover...
Old phone, you were a good one. In 2002 you were a bit pricey, but you had all the latest features. You did text, web, had a color screen and even supported down loadable midi ringtones! I know I wasn't always careful with you, but you were never lost or stolen. Every time I you dropped on the floor, you worked faithfully as if concrete were made of felt. Remeber that time I lost my grip and yo...
Maybe I'm just not the target audience anymore. But the VGA is off my radar for TV watching. I'd rather be playing games than watching some B list actors talk about how extreme they think Gears 2 is.
This is the promo we did for this seasons NFL on Fox program .
First off, Far Cry 2 screwed me... no Ubisoft did! Its very sad really when a company no longer cares for the quality of their products, or the consumers who pay their salaries. When I was a kid, I had a gen:1 Atari LYNX. After the first year the black paint started rubbing and chipping off the body of the LYNX making it look horribly disfigured. The hardware worked just fine, but I was pissed...
I finally got to work on my first feature film. It's not as glamorous as it sounds, but it was a cool experience none the less. My task to color and light about six different VFX shots for an upcoming film, which will go un-named for now. For the first part of the job, I had to apply textures to models with some additional UVW work and texture painting. However, the most time consuming part was...
Here is my little witch Corgi. caption
That's right, I got married two weeks ago. So far married life is good, although it doesnt feel much different. We've owned a house over a year, been living together for two and have a dog and cats, + flying squirrel and rat. If you dont think you could live with someone for the rest of your life after all that, then its not going to work. Luckily I found that magic formula. Its also nice to ha...
Damn it finally, happened. My stereo got stolen out of my car. Technically I dont live in a bad area despite the close proximity to the Detroit city limit (5 miles). But after 6 years someone went through my car parked in my driveway and took it. Fuckers!!! The jokes on them however, my radio is password locked when the power is disconnected. So it will never work again unless I get it back, wh...
I dont know if any one has heard, but the mayor of Detroit is a straight up thug. Sure he was elected twice, but thats not saying much. He's been in hot water ever since he had this huge party at the mayoral mansion a few years back...I mean that never happened. Any way, there were strippers, drinking, drugs, oh and a whole bunch "respected" members of the community involved. So naturally they...
Ok, so I've been painting my bathroom, going five days. The motivation isn't there, and it doesnt help that I just hate to paint. It should come natural, I went to college illustrate, i.e. paint. I just hate the home improvement kind of painting. Sure it looks better than that Jackson Pollock wanna be shit we had before, but damn. Still pending, another coat on the ceiling and cupboard doors. O...
Great job on getting the site up and running. Are you guys going to add some game collections in our profile?
