A start.

Well greetings. This will be my first step into the blogging "scene" and I can feel the "amateurishness" flowing from my fingers now. Before I start writing my opinions or rants or complaints about anything I should dip into a little of my background. This should help if someone should even attempt to regard my opinion with any sort of weight if that still happens today with the multitude of opinions out here on the internets. Since I will mostly talk about video games I will start there.

I have been gaming since as far back as I can remember which was about 4 maybe 5. I had aunts and uncles at the time that played Atari 2600 and NES. This is where I started. From there I was eventually awarded my own NES from my parents shortly after that time and moved next to Sega Genesis then onto Nintendo 64 where I think I began to become more aware of gaming as an industry, its potential, and its draw. I have experienced every system from NES to the present and have owned most of them. I am an avid JRPG lover that has been oddly gifted with a quick twitch reaction speed where I tend to excel in FPS games more often then not. I enjoy pretty much all genres in gaming today but probably play puzzle games the least out of the rest. For a more current situation on my console situation today I own a PSP, DS Lite, Xbox 360 S, PS3 Slim, PC, and Wii. I should note I do have Kinect.

A sample list of favorite games that would easier show my range in favorite games. (In no particular order just off the top of my head)
• Super Mario Bros. 3
• Call of Duty 4
• Burnout 3 Takedown
• Borderlands
• Zelda: A Link to the Past
• NBA 2k1
• Jet Grind Radio
• Demons Souls
• Final Fantasy 10
• Half Life 2
• Super Mario RPG
• Contra
• Gran Turismo
• Fear Effect
• Street Fighter 2
• Everquest Online Adventures
• Frequency

Whew, OK I could keep going on but that list is long enough. I tried not to name many current generation games since you can get a better feel of the range of games I play. I of course enjoy many of the best sellers for the most part but I don't enjoy limiting myself much in anything I do. I do tend to buy many of the more recent releases and plan to put down my thoughts and reviews about them on future posts. Hopefully as I get better and more thorough on my posts you will get a better feel about my style and maybe get some useful information about games from me.

Aside from gaming I seem to have an almost freakish interests in the mobile phone world. Not necessarily games on them but just phones in general. I am currently on android with a Droid X but I tend to follow the phone industry quite intensely and hold little prejudice towards any brand or mobile OS. I am quite the power user so android seemed to be a natural step for me but have been interested in Iphone since it arrived on the market. Of course Windows Phone 7 is in my ear but it is quite new and Blackberry, WebOS, and Symbian are out there but their influence is, at the moment, small. I have convinced people to pick up the device that will most likely suit them individually and since I like to think I am great at putting myself in other peoples shoes when I recommend things to family or friends they have so far seemed to fair just fine. With a good amount of focus here I am sure posts about mobile phones and its news will pop up in posts as well.

I am also an avid fantasy novel reader, a consistent watcher of anime, and a struggling college student. I hope to convey with this first entry that my "geeky" interest do not just lie with gaming since these posts are on a gaming website(my favorite gaming site I might add) and these posts will vary depending on what may be holding my interests at the time and I feel I have enough knowledge on the subject to comment on. Optimistically you the reader are familiar with all these things since most people have many interests and you will gain a little information from reading.

I am not one to bash things for no reason, I am very open minded which can both hurt and help. I like to think I'm "fair and balanced"(haha) and I guess I love quotation marks. Either way I should let my writing do the "talking." I really need to stop...

This post was both shorter and longer than I intended which doesn't really make sense even to me. Also random note about my personality, I seem to find a good amount of similarity between myself and Giantbombs Vinny with the sort of random type comments and mindset that he has. I don't know if that helps or hurts in getting to know me but there you go.
