I'm sure the following scenario will sound familiar to most of you, there is a game that has an interesting and fresh concept, you see some gameplay of it and it looks rather awesome. From then on you keep tabs on it, checking up on news and so forth and you're dead set on buying it when it comes out, but for whatever reason, you just don't get around to picking it up until much later. This is...

Difficulty in games is perhaps one of the most awkward topics to discuss in gaming. Everyone’s answer to “what’s the hardest game ever?” will always be different. People tend to lean on older games from past generations, but whereas those games were hard due to the limitations of the technology at the time, finding a truly difficult game in this day and age is certainly rare. Just like the answ...

I imagine at some point this has happened to others, when you play a game that is just so damn good it can raise your standards a little too much. The main reasons for this blog are the recent gameplay footage from Ninja Gaiden 3, I played Ninja Gaiden Black competitively for over four years and it took me a while to change my mindset when it came to games that didn’t have the level of depth th...

I’ve been writing for a gaming website for a little over six months now, doing reviews, news and features on topics in the gaming industry. It started out really well, I had a lot of freedom to write about topics that I found interesting and had a decent choice of games to review. Lately things have been getting pretty bad though, the direction of the site has changed drastically in the space o...

The Next Devil May Cry had better rock, baby! Those of you who get my amazing pun above are no doubt familiar with the Devil May Cry series in one way or another. The reason I’m writing this article is to share my thoughts on the upcoming entry in the series and the legacy the previous games have left behind. Devil May Cry, like most Capcom series, has its ups and downs, but for the first time...

Why did it take someone this long to do a Pacman game like this? Best part is this game has completely crept up on me, I had no idea it was even coming out until I saw the quick look. Well and truly can't wait to get some M$ points and get the full game.

More people need to watch these, they are really good. Not only are they a great example of how not to make crappy, run of the mill video reviews. They're also quite credible reviews, the humour is not used as a mask like in most others these days. You should give them a go - http://www.youtube.com/user/acornfilms

http://www.connectedconsoles.com/blog-inafune-devil-may-cry-5-to-have-western-touch-to-boost-sales.cfm Capcom's Keiji Inafune has revealed Devil May Cry 5 will have a "western touch" to make it more desirable to European and North American gamers. The last outing for the series came in 2007, but has since gone quiet. Now rumoured to be in development at Heavenly Sword and Enslaved creators Ninj...

Try not to flame too hard :) Anyway, recently got Painkiller off Steam and been enjoying it a lot. A nice return to old-school style FPS gaming. However, I must say I really don't see the big deal about using a mouse and keyboard. I'm finding it very uncomfortable to use and cannot play for much more than an hour. I've never had any problems using a controller to aim nor do I have any problems...

Thought I'd post this :) There is a tree that can be grappled to where you first land. If you stay here and just use weapons until you knock it down it will evade its two most lethal attacks. The burrow and shockwave attack are instant kills on commando mode but if you grapple to the tree and hold on you will stay out of harms way. I realise this is probably common knowledge by now, but still,...

I was right to change I think. Segment style is a little old now, hopefully anyone that reads it will thin the same. it's for Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters.

Not sure how to start this, but here goes... Just finished my Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters review and tried a more on-the-fly structure. Talking about things as they occur to me, still maintaining some structure though so it's not rabble. Anyway, I think I'll go with this style for a bit. Overall I think both styles of reviewing have their strenghts, a structured review keeps you on topic an...

I really hope I'll enjoy this, the main reason why I couldn't get into MGS3 was because the gameplay felt a little too behind the times. Hopefully with MGS4 that won't be the case, great price too. This is normally at least £20 - £30 in most places. Granted it's cheaper platinum, but I hate platinum cases.

In the middle of writing my Bionic Commando review at the moment and I just can't be bothered with this aspect anymore... Since the introduction of the PS3 and 360 there has really been no point in commenting on the technical aspect of the game. Granted there were one or two early titles that looked pretty bad, like the original Condemned, let us not forget Dead or Alive 4 though. Easily still...

I'm staying at my girlfriends house right now and only have my PSP with a few games. I don't play it that much but everytime I sit back for a good session the quality of the games on it always amazes me. Just finished playing through the Ratchet and Clank on it and enjoyed it even more than Tools of Destruction, it seemed to stick closer to what I loved about the original R.A.C. due to the limi...

What's the big deal about this? When this game first came out all I heard from people and the web was how hard it was to master swining about. Even though most of the places online where I heard that from were places that absolutely nothing about games but still, I was expecting a very deep gameplay mechanic. I'm finding it so easy, and not to mention fun! Swinging around the city is incredibly...

Was making a list just now of all the games I've ever played. I got to over 100 in less than 10 minutes and hadn't even made a dent in them. It's amazing when I look back at how long I've been into games and seeing how far they've come. I'm gonna get all nostalgic when nightmare creatures arrives.

Right, after roughly 11 years I am getting this game. I played the demo waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when PS1 magazines used to come with the old fashioned demo disks, you know; that part that actually made it worth paying £5 for a magazine because you got about 12 new demos to try out. I can't wait to play this, should be awesome fun. Time to put on my old-scholl hat :)

And no, not by buying the new console. Found a 120GB drive for £30, and I can finally download more than one demo at a time. The core 20GB really isn't much if you have a game installed, not to mention the fact that you don't actually get the full 20GB anyway.

Right, first let me say that I do not think this game is bad, I had a very good time with it overall. However, it was easily the most schizophrenic game I have ever played. It swapped so rapidly from one mood to the next. It wasn't really until you cross into mexico that the game really picked up pace IMO and (almost) settled on it's tone. I also encountered my fair share of bugs while playing,...

This game has taken a while to get going for me, the early missions are so dull and ridiculously easy. The later half is much more fun, riding around on trains and horses gunning down loads of rebels, the dead eye is really fun to use too.

OK, this is just a rant from an RE fan about the RE films. I was reading up on the upcoming (and shitty) afterlife film and apparently a sequel to that is already being discussed. I can't understand how these movies keep making money, I mean no RE fan could possibly enjoy them and even the dumbest of movie go-ers can't either so how do they always earn 3X their production costs in revenue. Anyw...

I would have definitely liked more time with this game, I will be on the look out for it in the near future.

I finished Singularity a lot faster than I thought, I had a feeling there would be a lot more to it than there was. Anyway, RDR tomorrow if my rental store has it in. Really not sure what to expect, on one hand I'm expecting not to enjoy it but on the other I can't help but hope it's the GTA3 sequel that was never made. I guess I'll have to wait and see... By the way, if anyone wants to play so...

Finished this game last night, review will follow soon enough. I had an amazing time with this game, I really enjoyed the setting and all the little things the devs did to make it seem real and to pull you further in to it. I did get a very strong Bioshock feel from it, but I don't think that was a bad thing as Singularity made up for that with tight controls and fun weaponary. Yet another awes...

I found that last one, yet again I missed one of the easiest ones in the game like I did in the original Crackdown. Only took me 6 days this time, knowing where to look is extremely liberating. Hunting for the agility orbs has always been the most fun part about Crackdown IMO. I love seeing one atop a high building, then going to grab it, then seeing a long line of ones I still have to get and...

So I log on today to finally get that 100 cheevo and boom, rank reset to a level 1 from an 85. I have never cheated, bridged host, glitced or anything like that. I pride myself on being one of the few people that played Gears fairly. Epic can officially go eff themselves.

Well, just got back from the new film Predators. I grew up on old-school action films like the original and while Predator 2 wasn't as bad the AVP films, Predators is definitely the film I have been waiting for. I'm not going to spoil anything but all I can say is that Predtors is seriously awesome, there were a couple of lame things... and what the hell is with wasting Laurence Fishburne? That...

Hey.... whoever decided to read my blog. Well just finished Alan Wake and will review it soon after I've squeezed a little more play time out of it. Short and sweet of it is I enjoyed it, solid atmosphere, fun shooting and somewhat decent pacing made for an OK way to spend 7 - 8 hours. Now, while playing Alan Wake I finally thought how I can explain why regenerating health systems are bad.... N...
