In the simplest and perhaps most cliche of nerd arguments, the only reason nobody liked that movie was because nobody got it. Well, I've just been struck like a bolt from the fucking heavens with an epiphany.
I get it now.
The weird thing is that it wasn't even because I was watching the movie. I haven't watched any of them in years. I was actually in the middle of watching a documentary called Helvetica, which is a film concerned with a particular font- or in the professional vernacular a typeface.
There is no savior, there is no answer, and all there will ever be are the machines. You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet.
