Street Fighter 4 PS3 Edition Launch Tournament

It’s now almost a full month into 2009, and just under one month until the release of Street Fighter 4 on the PS3 and Xbox360 home consoles on February 17th (maybe February 18th for Canada). Let’s hope it does get here for the 17th.

With this in mind, the fighting game community, including us here at Chip Damage are about to kick it into full gear, with the first two tournaments just around the corner, including, the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament featuring BO10 & Noobking, followed by the highly anticipated Street Fighter 4 Launch Tournament on February 21st, just 4 short days after the game’s release. It’s time to turn up the hype meter! Be sure you tell your friends, we want as many players as possible, no matter how oldschool or if you are a newcomer to the scene. There’s a place for all tiers of players, and we welcome everyone. Did we mention it’s FREE? So grab your pads and sticks and we will see you there!

  Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009. The Saturday after the game’s release date. (Confirmed)

• It will be on the PS3. (Confirmed)

• Entry to the tournament will be FREE! (Confirmed)

• Location
  Armes Building Science Lounge (click here for directions). (Confirmed)

• Time
  12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Registration and Casuals
  1:45 pm - Registration closes
  2:00 pm - Tournament starts

• - Depending on how long this tournament goes will determine if we get a Team Tournament going.
• - We’ll see about having a station set up dedicated to casuals all day, depending on time restraints and the number of stations we have.
• - Since we are following evo for the most part we will not be banning anyone until evo does.
• - Casual stations for other games will most likely be setup.
