Shit is getting very very real.

Looks like my son wants to come a little early, which leaves me in a very scared state. Up until recently my kid has been an ethereal good, something that didn't exist. But today she texted to let me know that the doctors want to move things along by about a week. I'm ready for the little guy, ready to open my arms to someone new, ready to buy him his first comic book, ready to show him his first video game, ready really to show him the world. This whole time I've been torn emotionally, and this was not by far 
 
In other news, I recently read about Mass Effect 2's Cerberus Network, can't say if I'm pleased or not. For those who aren't aware 1up broke it down. The Cerberus Network will be a conduit by which DLC can be delivered. Which seems fine and dandy for them to come up with cool words for their marketing models, however the Network will be availible for free in new copies of the game it will come included on a card similar to the extra cards that came with Dragon Age. Which means if you plan on pciking that one up at Gamestop on the cheap in a few months, better be ready to add another $5 to that if you want access to their DLC. In essence these guys are double dipping and punishing folks for not getting their game used.  
  
I think this may set up a precident that might just work out well in the future. For instance the next Madden game, up the price a little bit and give us a year's subscripiont to the Abyss of Football. In said Abyss update our rosters instantly, help out with leagues and offer an in game fantasy football system, also let these fanatics pick up a card in 2011 that let's them continue the service for $20 or so and not retire that piece of $60 plastic esspeically when the selling value of that title and other yeared sports games hit the barrel after the year.  
 
EA is bleeding money, I get that. But,stuff like Dragon Age, Madden, Mass Effect, Bad Company 2, and some other key franchises should help them out enough that this nickel and diming their consumer base wouldn't be necessary. They have been on a hit parade recently but with Activision and Modern Warfare 2 is holding Xbox live by the throat, I get they're a little scared.
