Mass Effect 2 is addictive

by sovietdancnbear

I'm on the second disk. I've had way too much time with it. Rolling over my character from ME1 was seemless and gives you a sweet rundown of what you did last time. If you loved the characters you'll be enamored with this game. That said every other world you visit you're tripping over your old crewmates or friends. Some of it is really cool, like I was Illium and an Asari's like, "hey Shepard"...

That said, this doesn't really feel like a Bioware game, sure the dialog trees are there but where's the stopping every 30 seconds to see if you found a better gun. It feels more like Gears of War with a better plot. I see this game as a great leap forward for shooters, but not so much for the RPG genre. Not saying that's a bad thing and If you're an ME2 fan or a Gears of War fan then you'll find alot to like here, but what about the Dragon Age fans who wear capes and chainmail? I don't see them having alot of interest in this game.

Just occurred to me that this would be a cool formula for the next Deus Ex game, 3rd person actiony, using the stealth elements if you want them. Character customization and doing missions for different factions to earn the money to go from city to city rather then planet to planet?

Tonight more Mass Effect 2.
