4 Guys 1 up is not 1up yours...not even close

I've been a long time fan of the 1up network's shows, downloading all the them day of to have something to listen to usually over a game or while driving. GFW Radio was always my favorite podcast with Sean Elliott and Jeff Green and their wacky/geeky shenanigans.   Along with that, Retronauts, about gaming in the past, and their flagship podcast, 1up Yours were usually top shelf. There was roughly a podcast a day so if you were into these guys at all you were set all week with plenty of news and entertainment.   
  
Recently I'm trying to get back into them, I've been listening to 4 guys 1 up since they renamed it after Garnett Lee left a while ago and I thought they hit the mark with the Mass Effect 2 information just before the holidays and talking about Heavy Rain. I was getting ampted and glad the show was back in order, but their most recent episode was concerned with Indie Development and some of it was interesting, but its really hard to get excited for Mass Effect 2, and the other high profile games released today to be super concerned with the niche of indie games. Also 4g1u, devoted the entire podcast to speaking with these guys, for nearly 2 hours. I get that they want to appeal to the "high brow" gamers out there, but taking a week off of the show you're trying to bring back from the ashes only to appeal to a very small audience is a bad idea.  Maybe instead of spending the whole podcast talking about this one thing what about a "special podcast?" 
  
While the last 2 weeks have been disappointing, I'm not ready to abandon the site but I am hoping they get back to form within the next few weeks. The bombcast become my favotire podcast overall. Its kept up its quality since the formation of the site. 
 
Picking up Mass Effect 2 during my lunch break and it'll be  hard not to want to pop it in and have Commander Shepard take me away on another galactic adventure....
