My gaming update 05/20/09

Short list this week, as I'm still waiting on the 360 to get back and haven't been gaming all that much since the weather finally turned decent.  Let's get this done with so you can go make a sandwich, wax the car, take a nap, do a drive-by... the usual.

• Still playing a ton of Mario Kart.  I'm mostly using Luigi and Waluigi for solo, and mixing it up online.  Haven't unlocked everything, but I'm working on it slowly.  I'm not all that great at the game, so I'm not too worried about it.
  
• On the PC, I've purchased Gothic 2 Gold via GOG.com, and have knocked out a good chunk of it.  I'll admit to using the "cheat god" code initially until I got used to the combat system.  After a few dead bandits, I've gotten it down and haven't used it since.  It's one hell of a game with an amazing amount of stuff to do and see.  If you enjoy the Elder Scrolls games, give this one a go.  It's much more difficult, but it's a blast.

 

• And finally, I have reluctantly given up on becoming a mega-star in MLB: The Show '07.  I have terrible vision, and it makes batting almost impossible for me.  Outfielding is just fine.  It's a great game, but like Killzone 2 before it, it's just not a game I can play with my legal blindness.  I think I might spend the weekend getting back to Resistance 2, as I loved its campaign and multiplayer.  Here's hoping I'm not too rusty.
