I Should Have Told You Sooner, It's Been Gnawing at my Brain.

So my friend Marc's puppet show, "Razia's Shadow" is now over and I have nothing
to distract me from the undeniable fact that I am absolutely TERRIBLE at
getting homework done. My methodology for doing homework goes somewhat
like this:
"Alright, I've set aside the entire evening to get
this project that I've been putting off for weeks finally done. I've got
my coffee, I've told my friends I'm busy, It's only 6 in the evening,
plenty of time to get this done and still get enough sleep so I won't
hate the whole of existence when I have to wake up at 7:00 AM tomorrow
for my morning class."
...
"Well, since I have so much
time left, I can indulge a little and quickly beat the Shadow Temple in
Ocarina of Time. Really, I deserve a break after telling my friends I
couldn't hang out with them tonight. Yeah, that makes total sense. This
will only take like three hours anyways."
*3 hours later*
"Wow
that was great. I forgot how fun that temple was. Well, now here I am,
totally ready and prepared with just enough time left to get this
project done. I'm rested, relaxed and ready."
...
"Let me
check facebook first though. That will only take a minute. I should
really check up on my o-game too, as my resources are probably ready to
be moved. Oh hey, is this an image gallery full of hilarious and cute
pictures? I have time to browse through that real quick. I wonder if
"Winter is Coming" has updated in the past 10 minutes?"
*2 hours
later*
"I hate myself so much."
Not only do I manage to
get absolutely nothing done, I wasted an entire evening I could have
been using for legitimate leisure activity on putzing around on the
internet avoiding the work I absolutely NEED to get done.
Why do
I do this to myself?
Why am I so inept at just putting my nose
to the grindstone and getting these things done?
Why am I writing
in my blog instead of in the blank word document that is staring
at, no, judging, the innermost, shameful parts of my soul?
Good
question.
