My 2019 Game of the Year

I am going to rank the games that I have beat this year as well as the games you can't beat (it will make sense). Couple of honorary games first, DOTA 2 new patch came out having fun with it, Borderlands 1 and 2, went back and beat both of them I like 1 more than 2.

15. Links Awakening DX

I wanted to play the original before the new one came out, and my god did it turn me off of me playing the remake for a while. The DX version I understand is for GB and they are limited to the hardware but the constant switching your items to jump, run etc. is just terrible. The constant not know where to go and getting lost is also frustrating. I just didn't enjoy this one not much else to say.

14. Trigger Happy Havoc

I enjoy the 999 series quite a lot and decided to take a stab at this one. Really enjoyed the story and getting to know the characters that you wanted to know. It falls flat with the actual trial portion of the game not bad but not good either.

13. AI: The Somnium Files

I enjoyed this one more than Trigger Happy Havoc, I enjoyed the story and the characters more in this. The game flaws is the sexual jokes are way to much in this. A few can be fine but this game just keeps going with them and doesn't stop seems out of place at times.

12. Spiderman

The web swinging is a lot of fun, the city looks great, the story is interesting. Where the game falls flat is the combat. Its repetative and while it does give you options to use your powers, theres really no need nor does it tell or show you how to use everything at your disposal. Also this game just makes you wish the combat was more tight like the batman games. The side missions and things to do are also not interesting either.

11. Assassin's Creed: Origins

Really enjoyed this one from start to finish. It is fun to explore the world, combat is fun, side missions have interesting stories with them. Only really downside is there is a lot to do and feels very over whelming.

10. The Legend of Zelda (NES)

Played this game with using the manual and the map that the game with to try and have the authentic experience and it works quite well. Did have to look up one or two things but found most of the secrets by myself. Classic game a lot of fun. Only downside is i don't understand when you die it doesn't give you the full health so you have to go back to the fairy and heal.

9. Uncharted Lost Legacy

This game is way better than Uncharted 4 on every level. Less climbing more action and better characters.

8. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained is fantastic have a great time with it, only downside is the load times are awful and constantly dying and have to deal with it is frustrating.

7. Call of Duty Modern Warfare

First Call of Duty game I have really got back into since Black Ops 3. Excellent shooting, love the free maps idea, fun modes. The campaign isn't great though.

6. Pokemon Sword

Its a Pokemon game, you know what you are getting into. Love the idea of catching the rarer and the pokemone that don't evolve until extremely late levels are catchable so there is less grinding. The bad, extremely poor story, no voice acting, and the game is way too easy never lost a battle.

5. Luigi's Mansion 3

Tons of fun once you wrap your head around the controls. Excellent level design and great visuals. One of the basement levels has a section where you control a raft and it is just awful its bad. Also wish collecting the collectables actually did something.

4. Mario Odyssey

First 3D Mario game that I have beaten (never had a Nintendo console growing up). Really really fun game, like the hidden secrets and exploring the levels. Downside its too easy, but maybe the post game content is move challenging.

3. Kingdom Hearts 3

Was worth the wait. Love seeing that the worlds actually feel like living worlds with NPCs walking around in them. The combat is fun and fun to watch. The story wraps up perfectly as I wanted it to. I just wish that there was more of worlds to explore and more challenging. Yet another game that was pretty easy to beat didn't die until the final boss.

2. Crash Team Racing Nitro- Fueled

Absolutely love the first game and this plays exactly the same and adds more. Them putting out a new course every month for free and new characters is awesome. I know how to play the game so the difficulty was just right for me. The online multiplayer has also been a good time. Only downsides are the load times and the way in which you earn the coins to unlock characters and costumes isn't great. You can only earn the most while playing multiplayer which is fine, but if you play any offline mode or don't have internet, you earn almost nothing and it feels unfair.

1. Apex Legends

This is the first battle royal game that I got into. The shooting is excellent, the speed in which you get into the next game when you die is perfect and honestly makes the game for me. Tons of fun to slide around and great movement overall. Of course the battlepass and cosmetics are the downside to this game, but this is a game that is and will be in my regular rotation of games for years to come.
