Not only is today the 43rd day without smoking a single cigarette. It's also the day I complete my 31st round around the sun. Not only is today the 43rd day without smoking a single cigarette. It's also the day I complete my 31st round around the sun. I traveled 29,14 billion kilometers through space and it took me 978285600 seconds to do so. I witnessed the Tschernobil incident, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of the Cold War, the rise of video game culture from something only geeks with giant glasses played alone in their basement to the multi-billion industry it is today and the evolution of the world wide web from some public university sites one could access with the mosaic browser with a whopping speed of 0.2 kbit/s to the broadband-enhanced multimedia fun it is today. Some things that are possible for me today I could've never believed in earlier times of my life. Back in the day I had a Snes and had to work my butt off as a paper boy for every game I owned. If somebody back then would have told me that merely 15 years in the future it would be possible for me to have every snes game ever made on an handheld console saved on a chip that is barely bigger then my thumbnail, I would've called him not crazy, but too optimistic since I would have thought it would take at least 50 years ;) And as fate wants it, this very day will probably see the end of gaming history's longest recorded playthrough ever. I'm excited to see what will happen during my next 31 rounds around the sun.
