Chiptunes

So I feel the need to share my love for Chiptunes with the site. For those who don't know, Chiptunes is a style of music where most of the song is composed on an old school sound chip from a video game system. Systems like the NES, or the Atari are good candidates to create awesome sound. I've recently come across a website that has a huge list of Chiptune music. The site is called 8 BIT PEOPLE. The sound is extremely retro, and if your a product of these generation of systems, you can't help but be hit with a wave of nostalgia as you listen to the music. So far I have enjoyed every track I have listened to on 8 bit people. I highly suggest you sample some of the work there.

Another great site for Chiptune music is 8 Bit Collective. This is a community based site, where you can upload your own chiptunes and have it rated by members of the community. You can find some really neet songs on the site. Remixes of well known pop songs by famus bands and artists, and original songs that are just as entertaining. I havn't gotten to deep in to that site just yet, I only came across it recently.

Theres just something truely awesome about the sound of a chiptune song. I'm impressed at what people are able to do with some of these old chips, and it takes the love of gaming in to a whol new direction.
