Jacki's Adventures: The Library's Toys

I recently order a few books from the library and two just came in today, and since I had nothing else to do and the library is not terribly far away, I biked it.

Oh god, the pain.

When I was holding my bike while I waited for my dad to open the garage door, I could barely keep my grip and my legs decided, "Hey, I don't feel like functioning right now," so I went to my room with some Italian Ice and collapsed on my bed.

When I recovered, I opened up one of the books I received, I Am Plastic: the Designer Toy Explosion by Paul Budnitz, which is a terribly thick, hardcover book, may I mention. Felt wonderful on my back, as you can imagine. In any case, the book is chock full of images from recent designer toys ranging from Asia, Europe, the United States, and about anywhere else that manufactures unique toys. I think quite a number of these are so worth while to look at that I spent the last few hours looking for images online to share with you (yes, you). It stinks that I couldn't find all the ones I wanted, but that's probably for the best considering how many I have.

Let's show off some game related toys.


Red Magic makes some basic blank/naked dolls called CiBoys and some set clothes. I prefer the To-7 (pictured) because it has a power button as a belly button. Anyway, the clothing ranges from Star Wars to Spiderman to Batman to Captain America to Pirates to Hello Kitty to...oh, what's this? Bison? Yep, that's Bison. They might not come right out and say who each character is like in poor Ronald Duck's case, but it's rather obvious who's being portrayed.


Toy2R is next up with mini-toys that are easily measured with a standard ruler. Unlike CiBoys, Qees straight out represent what they are. Sure, XBox, Sony, and Samsung logos can be construed as advertisement, but hey, they're representing! REPRESENT! HUT HUT! Other things that might interest you are the Hellboy Qees and the PSP Qee...though that one is limited edition. No sign of Nintendo, but like most people say, they aren't exactly third-party friendly.


The company I'd like to mention gaming-wise is Sket One...though there's nothing really else to say other than hey, Operation. He's operating on himself. HARD. CORE.
