I had been playing Fable II lately and i decided to write a review for its first DLC, Knothole Island. This DLC features tons of items to improve your appearance and puzzle-oriented adventure. Not only does it feel realistic through the case of the weather of Knothole but the surprises after that, especially the Box of Secrets Shop where you can exchange items for "whats in the box'.'' I have enjoyed improving my physical apperance in this game and I hope that they will have more amazing things in the future.

Here's the review of the DLC. I really enjoyed the content in the game and its worth the 800 points.

Blue Velvet

Here'sa movie review of Blue Velvet, I enjoyed writing reviews especially movies because of no required research is necessary than reviewing a game. There are exceptions but I usually get bored writing a video game review than writing a movie review.

Anyways Here's the review for Blue Velvet

Words cannot describe how David Lynch’s work can comprehend. All I could think is comparing one of his works to ‘Blue Hole Sun’ by Soundgarden which is entirely a mind-fuck to witness. It’s these sorts of things that are intriguing and completely insane at the same time. You can get into the ending of this film, pondering why you have watched this or being philosophical about it. David Lynch’s work is exactly like that, he creates a world of uncertainly and upmost insanity that is clearly psychopathic. ‘Blue Velvet’ exemplifies a world of insanity.

Blue Velvet is about one person’s curiosity played by Kyle MacLachlan; as he one day stumbles upon a severed ear. Not satisfied with the police Kyle’s character, Jeffrey had undergone this investigation into his hands and his girl-friend, Sandy. This investigation had entered him into a world of evil, of uncertainly and horror, as he ventures into an apartment. He believes that he will find clues for the investigation but what he found was a living nightmare.

Enter Dorothy, a singer at a local club who lives in the apartment that Jeffrey is investigating. She soon discovers him lingering in her apartment and the scenery changes as he had entered into an evil world. At the same time, he encounters Frank, the owner of the local club which Dorothy sings at. This is where the true evil is harness and the insanity that Dorothy faces. As Frank does disturbing things to her, manically while coughed up with drugs which he breezes into. Jeffrey therefore helps Dorothy in this world that she cannot escape as he is parallel to both worlds.

David Lynch’s narrative to this story is utmost astounding and brilliant. He created a film that requires no sense of a storyline but a theme, in which it portrays morality, good or bad. You could easily understand the theme of this narrative, the morality of which Jeffrey encounters through the story. First he witnesses an inhumane image that is grotesque and awful in which Frank Booth, violently attacks Dorothy, this caused a trauma as well as her sanity. Jeffrey had entered into the bad side and an investigation to look further into.

In this bad side, he faces the insanity of Frank Booth, as he overdoses with a drug. This drug affects Frank into a real psychopath that is both insane and inhumane for human eyes to see. I really cannot describe the visual that pertains in each scene with Frank Booth. It feels like a work of art rather than the plot. It is a visual representation of collagists that represents the gruesome horror and the nightmare that Jeffrey has over the course of the film.

 An example of the good side is when Jeffrey is dancing with Sandy; you could see a bright light, lingering about. These two sides represent the storyline, Dorothy’s mortal dilemma with a psychopath and Sandy. The theme of this film was express through the contexts of the beginning in which Jeffrey’s father has a stroke and a glimpse at bugs. It is not the case of the stroke but the glimpse at the bugs that represents the storyline that Jeffrey soon encounters. At the end, you could see robins as they eliminated the bug as they are described as the good side. The film is but a nightmare turning into a dream. 

The lighting in this film is the essence of the plot. You can see the lighting as it represents a dim and dark contrast when Jeffrey enters the bad side. When he enters into Dorothy’s apartment to bear witness Frank’s psychopathic ways. Especially the disturbing scene when Jeffrey sees two (one) corpses in Dorothy’s apartment which the corpses have missing ears. The good side however is when Jeffrey visits Sandy as you could see a bright shining light that contrasts.

In conclusion, this is not a film but simply a piece of art. It is surprising how Lynch can interpret these scenes within the Hollywood sound effects that we see today. His scene requires no daunting music that hints what is coming up next. It is just magnificent how he contrasts both good and bad such as a morality. It is no wonder that these classics, brilliantly give you the narrative without any resent of confusing us. I’m often curious as to how the actress played by Dorothy, can act when she is naked in Jeffrey’s garden and being tortured by Frank Booth. It’s the sheer brilliance of Lynch’s work to interpret and direct the scene that contains disturbing scenes like that. This piece of art is recommended to all audiences who feel nostalgic of the classics, specifically horror or supernatural films. It is a intriguing piece that should be remembered as a wondrous piece of art display.
