I was stroked to see that they are announcing the new Hitman game called Absolution in this year's E3. While I wasn't a big fan or had played all of them, I just sampled the first few games and completed Blood Money. Hitman is the quintessential stealth-based action adventure game for me rather than Assassin Creed -- I just find that being a hitman whether silently killing people from the back or performed "accidents" and see where it goes. I also how you can remove bodies and always fit in their clothes, easily walking out of the scene crime. In Blood Money for example; in the "Curtains Down" mission where you had to 'assassinate' a target while he's watching a play, you don't really have to use anything albeit a few guards to complete your mission. What I had done is first get the real gun of the suit and then proceed to the actor's room and replaced his fake gun with a real one, next go to the backstage where you go up above the stage and plant a c4 so the banister falls down, crushing the target/objective below as he runs to the stage, blindly and you get to walk to the exit.
These moments are just exciting and intense and you can take any route to complete your objective, rather than having to catch your target in Assassin Creed, making it a tedious task but there are incidents if you screw up in Hitman that they will run -- failing your mission. Now from what is shown in this trailer - aside from the CG is more different techniques to finish your enemies, from drowning them, performing CQC tricks to snapping necks though we see that in Blood Money but it's probably more easier to perform these tasks. The trailer reveals that Agent 47 is trying to infiltrate some girl's place and is heavily protected by guards from drowning them to doing close quarters combat on their asses, we get some glimpse of the wire that 47 famously used but no syringe. We also didn't see 47's infamous dual-wielding modded guns and it's mostly comprised of CQC and such in a quickly manner that 47 is known for. The end of the trailer shows that the girl while taking a shower knows that 47 is here and probably will give some info regarding the conspiracy plot as describe by the wiki.
I think I'm the only one besides Ryan that is pumped for this game, I had longed for a modern stealth-based game and this is the answer for that. Hopefully IO Interactive and Square Enix (especially them) don't screw up a much beloved franchise for me and further improve the stealth mechanics and add some new features to this anticipated game of mine. Still I get the feeling that they are going to do something similar from Batman: Arkham Asylum and those silent mechanics and the screenshots looked vaguely similar to that game as well.
