Giant Bomb - a website about video games and the people that make them

My friends and I are writing for a small game site in our spare time (gameplaytoday.com). It's still unknown by the general internetting public, but it's steadily gaining in popularity. Thanks to that, I've just gotten an early code for Dishwasher: Vampire Smile for review. I'm very excited about it because I absolutely loved the original and it's the first game I've ever gotten early for any r...

I can understand the awesomeness that could potentially come from the idea of super hero universe crossovers, and there are few superheroes as well known or loved as Spider-Man. However, everyone seems to be thinking this will be to Spider-Man as Arkham Asylum was to Batman, blowing every Peter Parker-based game before it out of the water. With Spider-Man 2 (the movie the game), Treyarch struck...

I actually passed the milestone on wednsday and was waiting until the site updated to show it, but since that doesn't seem to be happening, I might as well just make this blog post now. I don't really have much to say about it other than I got to 6 figures with no sports games on my profile and through some miracle, I want to keep going. I fully expected not to have any inspiration to continue...

Okay so as you may or may not know, you unlock the ability to buy a platinum ticket from Rodin after earning 10,000,000 halos throughout the game. Since there is a fairly easy way to game the system and get an insane combo (and therefore rack up an insane amount of money) on the level 7 boss, getting that otherwise ridiculous amount of cash isn't too hard. You can buy the platinum ticket for 99...

For lack of a better list of categories, I'll just go with the ones Giant Bomb used last year. Also, as I can only definitively talk about games I've already played, those are the only ones eligible. As such, there will be no "sports games" anything because I didn't play any this year....nor will I next year. In fact, my new years resolution is to finally reach 100,000 gamerscore with no sports...

So I just went prestige and I had all my guns reset so I decided to try playing like someone I met the day before since it requires nothing but the good ol' handy knife. Basically, for the perks, I put on marathon, lightweight, and commando. With this, you're already running crazy fast with what might as well be a Halo sword, but once you unlock the tactical knife for a pistol, you're like an e...

Originally, console-based DLC was just this occasional thing that only crazy high-profile games did, so there wasn't as much to choose from. This lack of content is why people still condemn Bethesda for horse armor despite there now being far worse deals out there, just because there was so little available at the time. Still, reactions to terrible DLC deals are strange even now and I feel like...

Since the day Street Fighter 4 came out, I have been adamant about my desire not to buy the game. At first I was vocal about it all over the place, evolving as more and more people yelled at me for not owning it, from "The game looks cool but it's not for me" to "no, that game's way overrated, I'd rather save my money", and eventually to "STREET FIGHTER 4 SUCKS BALLS!" as I reached critical mas...

Originally when I purchased the Xbox 360 console, I just didn't play any sports games because I didn't think they were the least bit interesting and along with RTS games, I just don't like them. Then I rented Fight Night Round 3 which froze before getting to the title screen, but it was active in my account just long enough to be stuck there with a 0-point label in my achievement status (or wha...

I absolutely loved the first season of Heroes. Even though it wasn't as good (because of the strike), I was also a big fan of the second season. But this third season....what the fuck? The actors are still top notch, but the writing and character development are the worst I've seen since my days of watching Power Rangers. I mean seriously, this last episode had so many good things going for it,...

Hm...well 2008 was the year of awesome sequels if nothing else. Effing everything came out this year. What about 2009 though? Well there is one title everyone seems to be forgetting: DARK VOID!

10. Tales of Vesperia caption Now this was by far the best JRPG of the year. It has a great story, fun combat, and possibly the best example of real character development this year. By the end of the game, you have a clear understanding of exactly who every member of your party is, why they are fighting, and all of their ideals. This game kept me coming back again and again, and would be higher...

I don't know....there have been so many good games this year, I just haven't had time to play the bad ones....I suppose it has to go to Prince of Persia: Warrior Within since I got all the way to just before the last boss when I ran into a glitch that kept me from going any further, it even did the same thing to my earlier saves. Turns out, it's a well known glitch, and I would have had to star...

I have a 360, PS3, and a Wii so why would I sell it? Because my obsessive game habit is driving me out of house and home? If that's not your situation, you're not a gamer! Anyway, I would never give up my Brawl platform. As far as I'm concerned, that's THE Wii game. The fact that Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda: TP, and all the others are on it is great.....but....you know.....BRAWL....
