Giant Bomb is feeling more homey. Time for some discussion.

Now that everyone is getting settled into Giant Bomb, I thought I'd talk about what I think of the site, and it's features. Starting off, I'd like to say that I love how everything is based off the community, it's risky but I think it'll really work well in the end. Now that everyone is getting settled into Giant Bomb, I thought I'd talk about what I think of the site, and it's features.
Starting off, I'd like to say that I love how everything is based off the community, it's risky but I think it'll really work well in the end. Just being able to go onto a page, about my favorite games, and edit anything I want is almost magical in a sense. A community of people who love games, a community of gamers. It's a really cool concept and it feels good knowing the people posting here are here for one reason, video games. I really can't wait to see this site flourish. Jeff, Ryan, and the rest of the team has really made something special here and I'm glad to be apart of it.
Uploading images is a joy, it's super-simple and I find myself wanting to take screenshots of games I own just so I can put them up on the site. I like going into my profile and being able to see my contributions, I feel like I'm making a difference and it's cool that everyone else can see it too. Approval times aren't very fast yet, and that's understandable, so try not to bug them too much about it.
I've already submitted two articles, a good deal of screenshots, and when I first came onto the site for some reason I checked for an Olimar character page and was dissapointed that one wasn't there. I then realized that I can make one! It was my first contribution and it's cool knowing I added to the character database, a new character that wasn't there before was added by me.
I really can't wait till I've gotten 1000 points, it'll be so cool. I'm just afraid that, since it's so easy to add a bunch of pictures for points, there will be people farming up to 1000 then spamming bad stuff. I wonder, does the stuff submitted by 1000+ point users get moderated at all at the time of submission? Are they added to the queue even if they don't have to be checked? Just something I've been thinking about.
I've got my favorites all set up, and I've already reviewed one of them. (I will be reviewing them all eventually) I can't get enough of how many things are tailored to us gamers on this site, and they're even adding more stuff as I type this blog!
This site has already become the site I use to open Firefox. I normally open FF by using the address bar on the task bar, this site's address is always in there. Everytime I sit down at the computer I feel like checking how things are going in my profile, my submissions, submissions to my favorite games, and the forums. It's just, in a word, fun. It's fun checking out the happenings on the site. Which is weird, I guess...
