Although the title of this post sounds like some crazy indiana jones style action movie, its not, it is, in fact, a slightly depressing reality with a small ray of hope.

The recently merged Activision has annouced today that they are publishing several games from the merger, which include prototype, spyro the dragon and crash bandicoot. This list strange dosent include Ghostbusters or Brutal Legend, two quite high profile games that Activision would be mad not to publish. There is, however, one ray of hope at the end of the annoucement, or even start, and it is in the name of the company: Activision Publishing.

You see, Blizzard, Vivendi and Activison all have publishing arms, and as such, the games annouced as being published by Activision are the ones only Activision want to publish. Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend could very well be picked up by Blizzard and Vivendi's arms, and still released.

The coverage Ghostbusters has got, and with the money they are throwing at it (the entire main cast is back!) the company would be stupid to can it now, unless it really sucked, but most of the people who have seen it seem to think it is pretty cool, certainly from what i have seen it is. Brutal Legend is the same, after all, Jack Black is playing the main character.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of days now that the mega publisher is pretty much up and running, as canning a bunch of high profile games probably wouldnt be in thier best interests. Like I say, is a few ways for them to still get those games out, so we just have to wait and see.

Or they could merger em together, it might work, ya never know.
