New Esports Titles to Check Out

Nothing stands still in the world of gaming for too long. It is an ever-evolving industry where innovation and technological advances bring us incredible graphics and titles that become more realistic every day. But there are still a lot of very familiar names when it comes to the most popular esports.

The likes of League of Legends and Dota 2 will always attract a lot of gamers and feature on all the top esports betting sites. But there are new titles – and versions – being released all the time that should also attract your attention. We are not saying that you should give up on the tried and tested giants of esports – but just to be aware of what else is on the market.

We’ve brought together six titles that have either only just been released or will be coming out soon. There are some very familiar names here too – as well as some that are a little more surprising. But all of them are worth investigating if you want to remain at the forefront of the esports universe for 2024, 2025, and beyond.

EAFC 25

There was no surprise that the last football offering from Electronic Arts was a hit, even after it shed the “FIFA” label last year. The governing body of the sport seemed to think that no one would play a game that wasn’t officially endorsed by itself – but how wrong it was. The newly dubbed EAFC 24 was predictably a ratings winner and now the latest version is about to be released.

If anything, losing the FIFA affiliation has given EA greater scope to explore different kinds of game modes more in line with what the gamers want, rather than just keeping it ultra-realistic. The new version will have all the top players as usual, with improved gameplay and updated information. It is guaranteed to be a hit.

Valorant Mobile

Valorant has long been one of the top esports titles out there and ever since Riot Games announced the prospect of a mobile version in 2022, fans have been eagerly anticipating a handheld incarnation. There have been a series of delays, however, and there is still a little confusion about when exactly the new title will appear.

The new mobile version was supposed to be with us around now but looks more likely to be released in 2025. Beta play tests are being carried out in China though, so there is definitely some movement on that front. As one of the most popular esports titles, a mobile version will open up a whole new market for Valorant.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

It was inevitable that there would be a new Call of Duty title released this year and now fans of the series will have October 26^th circled on their calendars. That is when the title will officially be unleashed on the esports community, with owners of the current and last generation consoles able to play.

Thanks to the CoD Next event, gamers already know a lot about the new game, with the campaign, multiplayer, and zombie modes all confirmed. Expect more realistic locations and settings as well as a new “omnimovement” system for multiplayer gamers. If all of that sounds too exciting, rest assured you will soon be able to get your hands on the game.

Apex Legends

Just two years after we got the release of Apex Legends on mobile, the sheer speed of this title becoming one of the truly big guns in the esports world is quite incredible. Although there is no new version of the game expected any time soon, we thought we had to include it here as the new seasons are events in themselves.

The excitement of the Apex Legends community around the time of a new season has to be seen to be believed. It is no understatement to say that this game has changed the hero shooter genre and Shockwave, the 22^nd season released in August this year, was another milestone. Season 23 promises to be even better.

Tekken 8

Newcomers to esports may be a little confused by the mention of this classic. Surely Tekken is more of an old-style arcade fight game than an esport? But the release of Tekken 8 at the beginning of the year showed that esports don’t necessarily have to be almost open world games with thousands of characters.

There are, of course, a few updates in the new Tekken title, allowing it to be regarded as an esport. But at the heart of the game is the same old simple bouts, given a new 3-D look and some stunning new features. The Tekken World Tour has proven the game as an esport staple and now a whole new generation has been introduced to this classic title’s charms.
