Howdy everyone,

I'm starting up this blog to get some practice on my writing skills for - as of right now a hobby, and potentially a career. Video games have always been a passion since struggling with my brother to defeat games on our SNES. As I grew older so did the games. It blows my mind that such amazing stories and powerful experiences are being created throughout this medium. Consoles, PC's, and even our mobile devices can deliver amazing games to entertain for hours. Games have become both a business and an art, creating a wonderful dynamic that allows people like me to dissect and write about why they are so amazing.

As far as genres go, I enjoy almost any game that I can play! My first gaming obsession was Street Fighter 2, and am admittedly still horrible at the series. I remember playing hours and hours trying to beat beating the arcade mode just to be beaten by my brother and his Dhalsim esque arms. Super Metroid was a platforming, exploring wonder that has yet to be fed to me through a controller since. Mark Of the Ninja has recently scratched that itch but still...it's no Metroid. After these SNES games came my Playstation. Games like Final Fantasy 7 led me to become a avid RPG fan and I for one love the turn based combat. After playing the PS1 for years, there was no doubt in my mind that a Playstation 2 was meant for me. I was an awesome kid...in a very subjective way. I fell back into the fighting roots and mastered Tekken Tag, and disobeyed my mother by playing Grand Theft Auto 3 at a friends house. Metal Gear Solid 3 was my entrance to the series (with no regrets), the camoflouge dynamic and epic storytelling was bliss to experience as any Kojima game is. The PS2 has rightfully earned its title as the greatest system to ever be created. And that is an objective statement. As I entered high school, I waited a few years to upgrade - and play battlefront 2! Following what my friends played I bought an Xbox 360 and have not regretted the purchase. Gears, Halo, even games like Lost Odyssey scratched my gaming itch for years. Yes, no PS3...yet. With the release of next gen consoles, I have my eye on the PS4 and may want to catch up on all the PS3 games I have sorely missed. Ok, I still have some gaming regrets.....

Unfortunately I began to hit that adult slump and games began to hit the back-burner of my life. College followed high school, and I became more interested in making films. And what awesome movies they were! After a few semesters in college and no idea what to major in I decided to take some time off. And with this time off I have caught back up on the industry and have especially found a passion with gaming websites such as GiantBomb, GameInformer, and yes...even Ign. With lots of time on my hands, I think it is time I start being productive with it. And either writing reviews, doing features, or any other type of work I can do with games I want to do it.

These blogs are meant to be very rough thoughts I have and while I would like them to be fun and great practice, I would enjoy any constructive criticism from anyone who has something to say! So GiantBomb let's fuck some shit up!
