I have very limited experience with blogs. Figured I might as least try my hand at one.

Here's my GOTY list if anyone's interested:

Rellie's 2014 GOTY Listicle

	1. World of Warcraft: Warlords of DraenorI've been playing this game since February 2005, and I can say with certainty that this is the best WoW has ever been.
	2. Middle-earth: Shadow of MordorThe story is crap, but holy mother of god do I have a blast every time I play this. Poisoning feasts, killing warchiefs, mind controlling captains and telling them to start gang wars with other captains. It really is just a fantastic game to screw around in. And the side missions are even pretty fun, if basic.
	3. Super Smash Bros.Still the best local multiplayer game ever made. Also, Little Mac OP.
	4. Diablo III: Reaper of SoulsI loved OG Diablo III and even I admit this new xpac made the game 300% better. I have probably 300+ hours logged with this game, and 250 of them have been after Reaper of Souls came out. Adventure mode is a blast, loot 2.0 is a gift from Jesus himself, and the new Crusader class is the best class in the game (at least for me).
	5. TransistorI feel terrible for not having finished this game, because everything I've played of it is incredible. Like the studio's previous game Bastion, it seamlessly blends fantastic gameplay with an intriguing story that is vague without seeming convoluted. Also, I'm normally a very understanding person, but if you don't like the soundtrack then we can't be friends.
	6. FTL: Faster Than LightYes, FTL originally came out in 2012. But with the new Advanced Edition I can now be massacred by mantis-men from the comfort of my iPad wherever I go!
	7. TitanfallYou haven't lived until you've chained a wallrun into a double-jump into another wallrun and then drop down on some newbie from above and introduce him to your good friend Dr. Shot G. Un.
	8. Hearthstone: Heroes of WarcraftIf you're like me and occasionally go "fuck yeah Magic the Gathering" but then you remember all the bullshit like lands and tokens are like "fuck no Magic the Gathering," then this is the game for you. It does have a bit of a learning curve, but with the help of some deck guides you'll be able to easily pick up the intricacies of the game. Easily the F2P game I've spent the most time in.

And for good measure, here's the games I played this year I liked but aren't new:

Best games I didn't play until 2014

	1. Mark of the NinjaMan this game is so fucking fun. Easily the best stealth game I've ever played. I'm slowing working on 100% this game, and that's a rarity for me.
	2. The Walking DeadHELLO I AM PERSON #2131974192 TO TELL YOU THAT THIS GAME IS GOOD. Seriously though, this game is really really REALLY good. Lee is probably my favorite character in any video game ever.
	3. DmC Devil May CryI want to like stylish combat games, but so many of them feel like they have a huge learning curve. This game hits the sweet spot of being easy to get into, but over time ramps up the difficulty so when you die, you never feel like the game is being cheap. Also, unlike the other DMC games I've played, the level design is a colorful mishmash of memorable locations instead of another gray castle.
	4. Far Cry 3Like everyone else has said, the story is dumb as fuck but the open world aspects are fantastic.
	5. The Witcher 2: Assassins of KingsUsed to be scared of this game because of hearing how hard it is. Upon playing 2/3rds of it, I'd say it's not so much difficult as it is demanding of your attention. Definitely worth a try if you want an RPG with a meticulously hand-crafted world.
	6. Dragon Age: OriginsI actually tried playing this on 360 a few years ago, and I thought the combat felt like a clusterfuck and the story was cookie-cutter fantasy. Having recently started playing it on PC, I can see that the combat is infinitely better with a mouse and keyboard. And while the main plot and world is still pretty bland, the characters are all unique and fairly interesting. I'm only 15 or so hours in, though, so it still has time to shit the bed.
	7. Assassin's Creed: BrotherhoodTakes everything that was great about AC2 and expands on it. I'm kinda dreading about playing AC games from here on out because it seems like they're all a steady decline over time (with Black Flag being the lone exception).
