I really had no expectations for this game, and not entirely sure I even knew of it before it released. Then I saw the GB crew stream it and knew I had to try it.
Trouble is, I have no friends. Well, that's not entirely accurate. I don't really have friends with PS5 or playing this game on PS5. I was going to give up playing it before I even started, but then I found the Big Walk subreddit and the daily LFG threads, posting codes for people to hop in.
From there, I found so many awesome people and groups that I finished the game, 100%, within about 4 days. I was addicted.
The puzzles are fantastic, the world is fun and encourages exploration, the day/night cycle is frightening and intriguing. The entire package is phenomenal.
The reason I don't give the game full marks is the online. I had a few cases of connectivity issues (probably ironed out after release). But beyond that, I had an incredible experience with the game but only because I had to rely on non-game resources to find those people. The game needs some sort of server browser or "behind-the-scenes" matchmaking like Journey did years ago. Imagine walking around and running into a new crew.
Overall, it's nearly a perfect game. I just wish it was easier to play with other people without relying on non-game tools.
I played it on PS5, provided by PlayStation Plus.
