The good bits of this are great, the story, the writing, and the soundtrack, but other parts of this have not aged well at all. The gameplay by chapter 3 resorts to endless grinding to be able to beat badly tuned bosses (yes THAT one). Followed by another battle in which you must protect someone but if that npc moved into the wrong spot they will die every time and you will fail before even taking a turn.
Stuff like this is to be expected in 30 year old games but it could have been so easily tuned and tweaked in a remake, and maybe that’s why I’ve been harsher in this review than most have with theirs.
