Super Mega Baseball 32020

4 out of 5 stars

Metalhead already has such a great foundation here that it wouldn't be smart to make any dramatic or extensive changes. The contextual traits were a perfect addition to the game. The core of the game is basically the same, but players now have so much more personality than before. My co-op partner and I are playing a season with the Trackers, and we've taken to calling our #5 batter in the order, "Low-pitch Lee,"…

Fortix2009

4 out of 5 stars

When I first saw Fortix, I said to myself: "Hey, Jezzball with a theme!" However, it's both more and less than its inspiration. Instead of balls, however, you're interrupted by dragons. And Instead of clicking and having a line drawn straight across the play field (as in Jezzball), you create the size of the captured areas yourself by moving your character from a top-down perspective. Therefore, you can make the…

Zamb! Endless Extermination2019

4 out of 5 stars

I had a great time with Zamb!, although I probably don't know how to pronounce that title correctly. First off, I love it when cooperative games give each player a unique role. Cye has powers that he can use during a level, such as lightning orbs and healing circles, and he predominantly serves as a melee brawler. Chrome, on the other hand, can equip and drop up to three types of towers at a time (the majority of…

The Council2018

3 out of 5 stars

The Council was a wild ride. As many other reviewers have noted, it resembles a Telltale or Life is Strange-type game, but with RPG elements added in. You play a man named Louis who visits the secret island of a rich man named Mortimer. You ostensibly visit to locate your mother, but when you arrive you find that much more is at stake. When you begin, you'll pick a class (Occultist, Diplomat, Detective). This class…

Strange Brigade2018

4 out of 5 stars

It's just amazing to reflect on. Rebellion - the same Rebellion that developed Rogue Warrior, with its 29 Metascore - developed this gem. Strange Brigade might best be described as a co-op third-person action/puzzle game. You (and up to three friends) pick a character and attempt to stop the threat presented by the ancient evil queen Seteki. Most of the game consists of players alternating between horde-like…

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands2010

4 out of 5 stars

I think that this title warrants reviewing, as many in my friend group are torn about whether or not it merits a playthrough. These opinions range from “I’ll give it a shot if I have time” to “I’ll be disappointed in you if you play it.” First off, the atmosphere is the same atmosphere that you know and love from the first three Prince of Persia games. It may be too familiar to some, but I enjoy it, because I do not…

Metro 20332010

4 out of 5 stars

Metro 2033 has a fantastic atmosphere. This is an oft-mentioned virtue of the title. Your character (Artyom) navigates a subterranean world of connected Metro stations that have been converted into settlements housing friendlies, hostiles, or corpses, following a nuclear apocalypse. Many of the settlements really take on a life of their own, as you can slow and listen to conversations on a multitude of subjects.…
