This game is damn near perfect. The combat is fun, the story is compelling, the voice acting is amongst the best of all time, the graphics are top-notch, yadda, yadda, yadda.
All of this you could read in other reviews, and likely have. Here are the two reasons I gave it 4.5 stars instead of 5:
1). Combat: It's fun (as I said), but I couldn't figure out the proper button timing to get a high multiplier score. This is probably because I'm inept at such things. I would think that if I worked harder at it, I'd figure it out, but I beat the game and never got past an 8x multiplier. Seriously, I only blame myself for this...but it's a reason for me to complain...
2). Challenge Modes: While I appreciate what they do, somehow, I just don't care about them. I'm not sure what my deal is, as there are Trophies and leaderboards to keep me trying...but somehow, now that I've completed the game, I'm just "done with it." Because of this, I'm not sure about replay value for the game. With no multiplayer component, after I've completed the story, there isn't much to go back for besides the Challenge Modes, and if I have little or no interest in the modes...well...I just won't be going back.
So yeah, overall, I consider the entire package put forth in this game as more than enough to overshadow the two relatively minor complaints I have. Everyone should play this game.
