I'll try to keep this as short and simple as possible - Batman: Arkham Asylum is awesome! And it doesn't matter if you even care about the Batman fiction. Heck, I don't but I still enjoyed this game. So, as most of you already know, this new Batman installation takes place in, well the Arkham Asylum. Long story short, Joker allows him to get captured by Batman and to be transported to Arkham . There, with some help from the inmates, Joker takes over the place and Batman has to stop him. How is he going to do that? Well, mostly in two ways. The one I enjoyed the most was beating people up. Batman: Arkham Asylum features a really well executed fighting mechanic that allows the player to pull off some spectacular moves with just two buttons. One for attacking, the second one for countering the incoming attacks. It's pretty simple but extremely deep when you manage to get together some combos. Fighting is incredibly dynamic and it's just beautiful to watch. When you won't be beating up groups of bad guys, Batman will use his stealth skills. This part of the game also is very basic, but beautifully executed . Since Batman is just a billionaire in a latex costume, he can't take much damage. So, when the enemies are armed you will have to take them out one by one. This is the part where you'll probably use some of Batmans gadgets - the grappling hook, Batarangs, explosives and so on. At some parts in the game you'll have to hack some security pads, find some evidence or solve some puzzles. All of those are fun. Another thing that I have tell about is the voice acting. I won't get into details about that, but it's just plain awesome. Joker and Batman especially sound great. And the visual style is also great. Arkham looks really authentic and has a great, dark atmosphere. It's also nice to see a lot of Batman characters, though I wanted to see more of the Riddler. Well, I just wanted to see him. Oh, and the game also packs a Challenge mode both for fighting and stealth parts, but that's pretty much and afterthought and you wont spend a lot of time with it. So, no matter if you like Batman or not, get Arkham Asylum. It's just a great game!
