Now, while this game is a "Re-Make" it isn't really a Re-Make as much as a mulligan. The story differs HUGELY from the original Silent Hill, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing... just don't go in thinking it is the same game with better graphics.

For a Wii game, Silent Hill's graphics are actually very nice. The lighting is... odd at times, and graphical anomalies aren't uncommon, but it usually is fine. As for character models, they look great. One of the better looking Wii games out there.

The soundtrack for this game is FANTASTIC, with music ranging from intense, to eerie, Silent Hill is a game you will want to listen to. The effects are not bad, and the voice acting is quite good. Some sounds will come through your Wii remote, and these also sound nice. The first time I've found the Wii remote speaker to be useful.

The play the game, you use the Wii remote to control Harry's flashlight (Which is also the most powerful flashlight ever apparently, as you can see for a mile ahead of you) and the Nunchuck to move him. The D-Pad is used to navigate Harry's cell phone, which you use to talk to people/things that call you (their voices come through the Wii remote speaker) and has a map, camera, and the ability to save your game. The game follows a formula; Exploration, Chase Scene, Therapy. Rinse and repeat. You walk around for a while, do a few puzzles, then you run away from terrifying zombie-things, and sit in front of a shrink who will ask you questions. But the real catch in Silent Hill is the variables. The game tracks what you do, and will change what happens, where you go, who you meet, and the ending you get. I have only beaten the game once, and there are 5 endings, so my experience probably won't be the same as yours. I have played through the first hour or so several times, and it has been different with each playthrough.

The story follows Harry Mason, a man who crashes his car in the town of Silent Hill. When he inspects the crash, he realizes his daughter who was in the back is nowhere to be found. Your goal as Harry is to find her. Things get quite crazy and hectic, but I REALLY don't want to ruin it for you. You NEED to see how this story plays out. One of the coolest endings I've seen in a while.

To end this review... Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a great Wii game, with good controls, good graphics, and a ridiculously on the edge of your seat twisting and turning story, with an amazing ending.
