Video Review: The Legend of Alon D'ar

2 out of 5 stars

The Legend of Alon Dar is a computer roleplaying game with a horrible combat system that combines the worst elements of an Action RPG with a Final Fantasy-style Active Time Battle (ATB) turn based combat system. The game was made in 2001 by the now defunct Stormfront Studios and published by Ubisoft. This retro review discusses the gameplay of the game, and of course, there is occasional humor and funny jokes!

Willow1989

4 out of 5 stars

Some of you may notice I have sort of an 80's theme to my decor and that's because some of the best stuff was made in the 80s. For example, I was made in the 80s, and so were most of my favorite films. For example, Willow. Now Willow is a film that doesn't get a lot of love but if you ask me, there's no good reason for why. If you really step back and analyze it, it's has all the ingredients of the perfect fantasy…

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness2005

4 out of 5 stars

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness re-uses the game engine of Lament of Innocence, though it has a couple improvements such as a better inventory menu and camera controls. The biggest complaint people have about the game is the heavy use of copy and paste environments. I can understand why the developers did…

Castlevania SOTN Video Review

5 out of 5 stars

There are a lot of game reviewers who have talked about the Castlevania series before but I think the best reviews are done by people who actually played the games when they first came out. Since I happen to be one of those people, hopefully this review will be as informative as ones done by others but focusing more on what I like to call The Great Castlevania Shift of 1997. With the exception of Castlevania II, all…

City of Heroes: Going Rogue2010

3 out of 5 stars

This review is a followup to my earlier City of Heroes MMORPG Review. In this review I cover the Going Rogue expansion and talk about the new launch content, including the alignment morality system, changes to powers and so forth. I recently did a review of City of Heroes. Some people disliked that review, claiming that it wasn't representative of the game as it is now, because a new expansion, “Going Rogue” was…

City of Heroes2004

3 out of 5 stars

This is an in-depth game review for the MMORPG City of Heroes. Here I dissect the pros and cons of the gameplay. All footage was recorded using the Mac Edition of CoH. If you've never played the game before, you'll be presented with a list of servers to play on and be able to create a new character on that server. The first thing you'll notice about character creation is that you have a huge amount of freedom to…
