What's great about Picross 3D is that it builds on what made Picross so great. The first Picross made a great game because you got a prize for solving the puzzles. When you solve a sudoku puzzle you are left with a grid with a lot of numbers in random places. It's not very satisfying. When you solve a crossword puzzle you have a jumble of words on a page.
