L.A. Noire2011

LA Noire is a great game experience. Using new motion capture techniques Rockstar have put together a fun and unique way of solving cases. The shooting element is fairly weak but that is not the core premise of the game. The soundtrack is good, LA has been well represented in the game and the characters are memorable. Looking forward to the new DLC for this.

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution2008

Civ Revolution on the X360 manages to maintain the addictive nature of it's PC counterparts without needing to chop too much functionality out. The interface has been simplified for the gamepad but I feel that there would have been scope for them to do more... why not create an advanced control scheme? Mass Effect2007

Bioware's Mass Effect does a tremendous job of putting the player front and center in a new sci-fi universe. There are issues with this game technically but it's story and characters are first rate. I cannot remember a movie in recent times that has such a rich universe, all credit to Bioware for really putting a lot of effort into this it is clear they really enjoyed making the game.
