As a first remark, I have to say that playing Borderlands alone isn't as boring as people say it is. It's still a lot of fun. BUT...and this is a BIG BUT...if you play the game on LAN, or online, even with ONE friend....the game changes completely. The graphics, sound design, voice acting, and animations are top notch. Ow...I forgot to mention the most important aspect, the weapons. I did something that not many I think tried to do. I counted all the different weapons I came across. My number so far (after playing 16.5 hours straight) is 1,291 weapons!!! I know this might seem less than what the developers promised BUT, these are only the weapons me and my friend picked up. Remember, these are all different weapons. Now, let's get to the technical stuff. ***The Good*** -Graphics are appealing and match the game's tone. -Sound design is simply awesome. -Level design gives you the feel that the levels are big. In fact, they are not. -WEAPONS WEAPONS WEAPONS!!! -FUN FUN FUN!!! -The characters you meet are fantastic. The good and the bad ones. ***The Not so Good*** -More enemy variety would have been great. -There are some invisible walls that can hinder one's progress to a crate or something. -Tight inventory space. -Not enough "story" characters. ***The Bad and the Ugly *** -The story is mediocre. -Performance can drop severely in big firefights even on very-high specs PCs. -No dedicated trade system. -The skill tree system could have been more complex and more influential towards changing the character around. For a closing statement, I would like to say that Borderlands is probably the most enjoyable game ever created, as long as you play it along with others. Furthermore, Borderlands is a memorable, fun, and simply awesome game that no FPS or RPG fan should miss.
