It’s amazing how games change over time, isn’t it?
I got this game for Christmas several years back. I was younger, and I loved it. It was fun, but very short. Now, I play it again, and I realize the obvious flaws.
Gameplay: The usual platforming. You have to weapons: a staff and a pipe that shoots darts. The dart thing is basically useless, but works for the beginning of the game. The other is a lot better. Later on, you gain the ability to charge your staff. I wish I could say that this adds a whole new element to the gameplay, but it doesn’t.
Story: You save your village from evil. Yeah. Another platforming cliché.
Music: This is okay. The music is fine, and goes with the game. No voice acting, as it is a GBA game.
Fun: Geared at younger gamers. They should like it, until they beat it. Then, they might come back occasionally.
Overall: A game geared toward younger gamers. Some older gamers might like its simplicity and humor, which are the game's strong points. So, this game is fine. Just, nothing special.
Pros: Good for the target audience; mildly entertaining
Cons: Too short; clichés; not done especially well; some bad dialogue
