I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into when starting up altitude. I knew it had planes, multiplayer and a progression system and that I had high hopes.
The presentation is cartoony and bright colored and looks pretty good overall. The maps range from a variety of things like random geometric shapes to space to regular sky and mountains but most are fun and the variety keeps things fresh. This leads me to another great thing about the game is how the games tend to go by fast, there is never a moment of stalemate where you feel the empty feeling that you nor the other team is making progress and you fall into a pattern of respawn go out and die. Every time you respawn it's an opportunity to score a goal or bomb the base. speaking of which the gamemodes found here are typical in that we've seen them before like plane ball (like soccer) or take the bomb to the base and blow it up, but playing them in this fast paced enviroment is very fun. The matches in Altitude are wildly chaotic...in a good way. Every time I look out at the action it seems like it's on the brink of "I have no idea what's going on" while maintaining control.
The one gripe I have on this game is the stalls, I can't count the number of times I've died because of them. I'm not saying take them out because that would make the skill of weaving in and out of the obstacles meaningless, I'm just saying maybe make it easier to get out of them by a button press or a quick time event type deal.
Overall this is a great game, extremely fun multiiplayer game and at a fair price on Steam I leave asking this one question.
Why don't you have it yet?
