When I first saw this game, the first thing I was worried about was hype.
I didn't want another sh*tty Fallout 3, with the stiff humor, stupid references, and lack of VARIETY
(which Bethesda was -oh so known for, since Elder Scrolls).
This game was the opposite. It opens with an interesting beginning, which is followed by opening credits
(accompanied by a fitting song: Ain't No Rest for the Wicked by Cage The Elephant).
Absolute Pros:
The game has an original play-style you won't see in a lot of other games.
An EXTREMELY annoying, and yet FAIR death/penalty system where your cash pot has a %10 reduction for each time you die and don't accomplish the second, So you aren't
(e.x. you have $200,000 it costs 20,000 to be revived. You have $100 then it's $10.)
4 Completely Different Characters with no restraints.. Other than class specific mods.
(Brick can use a Sniper, Mordecai can use a shotgun)
The Humor is genius.
The Cartoonist graphics were a good idea, because they didn't have to focus on graphics as much as other games, that won't hold your interest for half as long as Borderlands (Like Fallout, or Fable *even though fable is a good game*)
The little midget Psychos who scream like chipmunks strung on an extremely high amount of crack/cocaine
make running in circles All. Worth. While.
The Weapon System.
The Fact I feel like I'm playing Diablo or WoW half the time is a major plus.
Cons:
You get stuck on surfaces with the motor vehicle.
Can't change clothing or get tight gear (like WoW)
It isn't going to get you a girlfriend.
Overall:
If you ....love to enjoy your off time with xbox 360 games, crude humor involving third nuts and break-dancing robots, 4 Interesting characters who are going treasure hunting, or hoarding sh*t then you will love this game.
If you ....Only care about graphics, scenematics, whether you got the head shot or not, play Halo an excessive amount, or are below the age of 16 you will probably not like this game. Shame on you.
It is deserving of my 5 stars, because it's been YEARS (I'm serious, 2007 when Mass Effect came out) since I've been able to play a game for as long as I've played this game. The best part is it will probably have expansion packs!
No seriously. Buy it. It's worth the $60.
