This is one game that never ceases to impress. I myself have never played Bioshock 1 and didn't know what to expect coming into it. Maybe a sub bar fps with some horror elements but it is so much more. The story of Rapture is intriguing and the aspect of playing as a monster is nice change from the standard human. Bioshock 2 is unique because it takes elements of RPG games and fps meshing them together in a crazy montage that just plain works. Sure, you can try and blast your way through enemies but before long you'll find yourself overwhelmed as enemies ramp up in power. In order to keep up you must scavenge bodies for money and other healing items and use this to purchase ammo and upgrades. Throughout the game you will come across various plasmids(magic) which allow you to freeze, burn, sting or otherwise main splicers into submission. It's not all fun and games though because in order to get ADAM the genetic material required for big upgrades, little sisters must be helped or harvested depending on your mood. Overall, there are many great things to this game, the only negative is that it can get very repetitive for continuous hours of play so make sure to take breaks.
