Borderlands is one of my favorite games of 09 so far, It's a combonation of Diablo and Call of duty and despite some flaws it's a great game. The first thing that caught my attention when I first saw the game was the look, the cartoony visuals manage to add humor to the gore and thats pretty great. But it's the addictive gameplay that will keep you playing, the constant flow of loot and quests will keep you saying " Just one more quest" well into the early hours of the morning. The shooting is tight and responsive and feels alot better then you might think. Like fallout 3, Borderlands also has RPG elements, aside from the quests and loot there is also a skill tree, this allows you to build a unique character and with 4 classes and 3 branches for each, there's plenty of reason to play through a second time. After you complete the game you'll unlock Playthrough 2, a much harder experience then Playthrough 1, it also gives you better loot and more xp. My total playtime so far ( form 1 to 40) is around 24 hours and I've managed to get 45/50 achievements, there is just a whole lot of content to see. However a couple things keep it from being superb,Slight framerate, no loot or trade system in co-op and a fairly underwhelming story. But none of those issues kept me from enjoying this game and overall this is a very immpressive game that is well worth $60.
