Still Don't Know What They Want To Do With This

A game that really SHOULD have had a tie-in with whatever the hell that brief ESPN football show was called, Blitz has continued demonstrating that Midway is miles away from their former pure short arcade titles and have embraced a game that lacks Madden's depth, but definitely has much more gore and markedly more smut..

Not saying it's bad...just different. I don't think the gameplay is nearly as good, but the campaign mode is more entertaining to play. All depends on what you're looking for.

The games, legitimately, seem to be an after-thought to their desire to produce an interesting storyline. You get to pick your player's iron man positions (I choose QB/CB). Blitz has a truly horrible running game --- the QB can pull off runs far better than RB or FB's can. The injuries, honestly, are overdone. You get 2-3 a game, every single game. It gets pretty overdone and this is something that needs to be toned down in the future.

Also, the game seems more about luck than skill. To give an example, I had to play the final game twice. I lost 24-21 once, and then won 64-6. I'm not appreciably better, but the first time, I had fumbles aplenty and INT's by the truckload. While you do have SOME input on fumbles and INT's, they do seem to be pretty much done at random.

Some of the game types are actually fun. I liked playing prison ball. The type where all hits lead to fumbles is ALSO a bit of fun.

This is a fun little title, but I don't think it has the replayability of Madden. But I do think it's well worth playing at least once.
