When I first caught glance at this game, I thought it was going to be the next best superhero game, everything looked so neat and tight, this game is going to be a Blast! But It didn’t live up to my expectations, sadly. Marvel's Spider Man isn't a bad game, far from it, but it's not intuitive either. Especially compared to the likes of the Arkham games, delivering a sense of weight but having a better sense of engagement, awareness, and better suitable controls with doesn't disturbed the pace, this game lacks around those areas for me.
Great story and Great graphics don't spell more important or improvements over gameplay, but they are things to give attention to, or the very least appreciate in Marvel's Spider Man.
The opening cutscene is pretty effective and does start out fine after that, unfortunately awkwardly fast pacing and clumsy fighting mechanics are the biggest things to tackle while progressing through the game. Its not too bad, though it does get quite slow and quirky when it comes to the stealth sections and boss encounters, dramatically changing the pace. Unless if your the type of person who learns things very quickly and becomes great at them in seconds, I don't think the game is going to hook you for very long. The average player may not immediately already get comfortable with the games controls and mechanics, it might get better for them if they keep digging more and more, but it's honestly not my taste unlike other great superhero games. If you do however make good use of the controls, it can feel pretty exhilarating and fun at times, even the web swinging gameplay and tons of side missions, it can be great fun too.
It's not a game for everyone though, if you like superheroes or open world games and can get past the structurally sluggish pacing, this is your game. For everyone else, I don't really think so, the game is $60 right now, it maybe safer to wait for a price drop, and just get it then, if you don't care, then just get it anyways, and who knows? you might already fall in love with it. Not perfect, but fun overall.
