Bioshock is possibly the greatest game i have ever played. Great story, great gameplay, great characters, and great graphics. The game starts as you are a passenger in a crashing plane. You are quickly thrown into the water and forced to swim to an entrance to a city, Rapture. This is a beautiful city made to keep people in peace and quiet, after a couple years is thrown into chaos. A lot of people say that the gunplay in the game is bad and I greatly disagree. The guns are powerful enough to keep you thinking that it's a real gun and with the addition of plasmids, the gunplay is some of the best I've seen. Also, the story is great and widely considered one of the greatest game stories. About 13-14 hours through there is a great twist that was so unexpected. Like my title said, PLAY THIS GAME. It's only about $20 so why not.
