The way that they took a "hardcore" game genre, Tower defense. Then abstracted it so much as to make a very approachable game by everyone is nothing short of genius. Hats off to the devs! The simple gameplay builds into a very strategic game. The collection of resources with the need to defend is a simple concept and done many times of the years. But they way PVZ does it is very clever.
