If I were Dan Brown, I would set to work writing a novel called "The Konami Code", in which Tom Hanks finds a murdered video game enthusiast and follows a series of clues to discover that Shigeru Miyamoto hid a bunch of religious conspiracies in his video games. Shit, that would be an AWESOME book!
Contra is one of those games that is unanimously agreed upon to be one of the greatest of its time. On the Nintendo Board of Shadowy Figures, Contra would be the National Security Advisor. Like Colin Powell, only with less grey hair. It's Aliens, Rambo, and Predator, rolled into one package, and (speaking from a game standpoint) has done better than all 3 of them combined. One-hit kills, 30-life codes codes, spread guns...this thing did more pioneering than Lewis & Clark (the explorers, not those two crazy kids from Smallville).
