I got to play Gears of War a bit after it had come out and hoopla was over but it is one of the best looking shooters and just a lot of fun with it's cover system and I loved the single player game. I know most liked the multiplayer but I just am not of a fan of one death during a match, too boring for someone starting out after the game had been out awhile.
