Journey is a true example of video games finally being viewed as an artistic media. It strips away nearly all of the typical "movie" devices used to tell stories in games. The story is simply told through gameplay. The emotion is derived through gameplay, yet it still remains a "game" not just an "experience" like so many people create in their pursuit of "games as art".
