EA Sports' flawless, magnificent FIFA Engine is back with the 2010 World Cup game. Whilst it lacks the sheer amount of content that FIFA 10 had, this is still a fun experience worth checking out. Few sports games provide the player with the emotional catharsis of victory, but 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa does. Assassin's Creed2007

A fantastic premise, wonderful world building and solid game mechanics make for an overall fun experience. Whilst it's brought down by repetitive mission structure and occasionally corny dialogue, this is a game well worth checking out, despite any flaws it has. Altair isn't much of a lead character but his motivations make sense and the narrative is very well-woven; the sci-fi ideas this game has are also very cool…

Left 4 Dead2008

Quite brilliant. A tense, absorbing and addictive game, that benefits a great deal from the organic integration of co-operative play and fantastic level design. While there's no written narrative to speak of, this allows players to create their own stories every single play through. And there's plenty of incentive to go back and play through time and time again. One of my very favourite games of this generation.
